Uptowns are going outdoors, as Nike is introducing the retooled Air Force 1 Wild. The women’s-exclusive silhouette sees the staple transformed into a bonafide hiking shoe, complete with a brand-new sole unit. And while the upper’s paneling is still recognizable as an AF1, the lines are slightly altered as they take on a new construction of nubuck and ballistic mesh.
Double heel tabs provide extra cushioning, and the rope laces secure via two layers of fastening atop a tongue that climbs higher than usual and features a pull tab. More as decoration, zig-zagging stitching comes tightly packed at the tip and appears wider at the foxing.
