The Reebok Answer 1 Is Returning in Its Original Form

After a more than stellar rookie season that garnered him Rookie of the Year honors, Allen Iverson and Reebok went into the lab to cook up an Answer to the Question. The Reebok Answer 1 made its debut during Allen Iverson’s sophomore season in 1997-98 with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now, the Reebok Answer 1 is making its return 25 years later in all of its original magnificence. The sneaker features a white tumbled leather upper with patent leather accents. It comes infused with red, black, and gold accents to compliment the colors of the Sixers and a translucent red outsole with DMX 10 technology.

The Reebok Answer 1 was the pinnacle of basketball technology for the period using Reebok’s DMX 10 system that originally debuted in the DMX Run 10 sneaker that same year. The DMX system was developed with two sets of air-filled pods connected by a thin strip. The cushioning was built to respond to movement so air would flow through the interconnected pods upon impact.

The Reebok Answer 1 was also the debut of the iconic “I3” logo and the legendary video game-style Crossover commercial that would foreshadow Iverson’s run as the cover athlete on the NBA 2K series from 2k-2k3. The Answer 1 made a return in its original colorway in 2018 but its DMX 10 system was replaced by DMX Foam. The upcoming release returns in its original glory for a perfect recreation of the silhouette.

The Reebok Answer 1 OG is set to release on July 19 via Reebok and select retailers and will have a price tag of $170.
