After recently acquiring Web3 fashion studio RTFKT Studios, Nike and RTFKT Studios are preparing to release their AR Genesis Hoodie announced back in the spring. Using augmented reality technology, the hoodie allows for wear for both CloneX avatars and real-life holders. The hoodie also includes an NFC chip that enables communication between the digital asset and the physical hoodie.
The hoodie’s private mint is scheduled to launch on Thursday, July 21, and includes a chance for holders of Clone X and RTFKT x Nike Dunks Genesis CryptoKicks to get a limited hoodie. In the metaverse, owners can add AR effects to their hoodies and future garments. RTFKT intends on more real-world utility including token-gating events to access only to holders.
