JJJJound continues their hot run of collaborative sneakers.
After revisiting the GEL KAYANO 14 and ushering in the return of the GEL-QUANTUM 360, JJJJound is turning to another frequent collaborator for their latest sneaker release.
PUMA and JJJJound are no strangers. The duo’s partnership began in Fall 2022 with a pair of earthy colorways on the iconic PUMA Suede Classic. The pairs would release as exclusives in China. A few months later, PUMA and JJJJound reconnected, again on the Suede Classic, releasing another round of China exclusives on Christmas Eve.
From there, the partnership went dormant for several years. Now, the two brands are connecting at an opportune time for both collaborators.
Since 2022, PUMA has become one of the sneaker brands that best connects the world of fashion and sneakers. The brand has made some massive moves that align that connectivity in the last few years. Linking with ASAP Rocky allowed the brand to tap in to the world of streetwear in a way someone as tasteful as Rocky only could. The rise in popularity of low profile trainers swung the door open for the Speed Cat to become a popular sneaker within the world of fashion.
In 2025, Puma is on another level. The brand is coming off another fantastic showing within their collaborative circle at Paris Fashion Week. Puma is seemingly enjoying a great moment. And a sneaker that is seemingly aiding their growth is getting the nod from JJJJound.
The Mostro received a lot of enegy from PUMA during January’s Paris Fashion Week. As the brand capitalized on the momentum it was feeling, it took the oppurtunity to showcase several new collaborative efforts on the sneaker, including JJJJound’s. Six months later- the sneakers are finally here.
JJJJound’s effort on the Mostro is a delivery of “masterclass in refined minimalism,” according to the Montreal-based brand. Similar to their past collaborations, the sneakers are detail driven- and stand out simply by blending in.
The JJJJound Mostros feature premium nubuck uppers that are paired with leather liners and a blacked out spike sole unit. The big twist comes from JJJJound’s removal of the strap closure, and replacing it with more conventional lacing in off-white laces. That said, the brand is already teasing a collaboration on the Mostro featuring the iconic straps that will seemingly release in the Spring of 2026.
The JJJJound and PUMA Mostro collection will release in two colorways- in Brown and in Navy. They will be available on July 10th via JJJJound.com at Noon EST. A wider release of the sneakers will occur on July 12th via selected Puma stockist.
