Supreme has a new creative director.
The New York-based streetwear & skate-centered brand has named Denim Tears’ Tremaine Emory as the brand’s new creative director. Under the Denim Tears label, Emory has amassed a following like no other with his own creative vision as well as collaborative efforts with ASICS, Levi’s, Converse, and others.
Aside from his products, Emory is also known for his passion for equality and social change, exemplified by not releasing his Converse collaboration until Nike, Inc. (Converse’s parent company) “changed its ways.”
“White supremacy and capitalism have been working for 400 years just in America alone. So, it works every day. I need Nike and every other billion-dollar company to work every day, to change it for women, for black people, Mexican people, for everybody. That’s what I need,” Emory told HighSnobiety.
Supreme continues to be relevant. After being acquired by VF Corp in late 2020, the lure for Supreme hasn’t wavered. With Emory at the helm for the renowned brand, we can only expect more coveted products with intentional messaging and branding.
