In an effort to further the conversation and thus encourage real action from the public in regards to the fight against racial injustice, UNION LA and Jordan Brand have set out on a unique venture related to their upcoming collaboration.

Firstly, to promote the shoes to the general public, UNION and Jordan have seeded pairs of their collaborative Air Jordan 4s, Zoom ’92, and Delta React Mid to various prominent black designerS, celebrities, and influencers. Also included in every care package, however, was a collection of items from five Black-owned businesses in the Los Angeles area who the brands have partnered up with to further promote their work. Notable names to receive the package so far include Aleali May, Jerry Lorenzo, and Michael B. Jordan. The five businesses chosen were Gorilla Life, My 2 Cents LA, Son Studio, Harun Coffee, and the Summae Everythang Community Center.

In a letter addressed to recipients, UNION’s founder Chris Gibbs explains his efforts as follows:

Its an honor to present you with a very special gift package that we put together to commemorate the upcoming launch of our Union x Jordan Brand collection.

… In an effort to unite and support our community, we’ve partnered with five local, indepednetly-owned Black business on this upcoming luanch. Included in this gift bag, you’ll find items from those community partners.

I invite you to please continue to support these businesses and other local Black-owned business as we try to reverse the effects of over 400 years of social economic injustice in this country.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
