Upcoming Reebok Forever Floatride GROW Is A 100% Plant-Based Sneaker

Reebok has taken on the challenge of sustainability and reducing the footwear industry’s carbon footprint to heart, going above and beyond with their latest footwear offering. This marks the first 100% plant-based sneaker offered by one of the major footwear companies. Other smaller brands such as Native Shoes had already achieved this in the past. The Reebok Forever Floatride GROW is a lowkey affair done in a simple, white knit upper with grey racing strpie accents across the sides with a “FLOATRIDE” branded patch sewn onto the canvas-style heelcup . A light brown ankle collar and matching laces compliment the shoe’s white base while a white midsole and natural brown rubber outsole finishes the understated silhouette’s look.

The shoe is entirely constructed from plant based materials from its natural rubber outsoles to the shoe laes. Materials used in its production include castor beans, real rubber tree, eucalyptus tree, and algae. The first 50 pairs of the Reebok Forever Floatride GROW will also come with a community supported agriculture shoeboxe filled with fresh vegetables from a local farm near Reebok’s Boston headquarters. The Reebok Forever Floatride GROW releases October 1st.
