Update on Upcoming Kobe 5 Protro Releases

Vanessa Bryant has given Nike the blessing to release Kobe products again. The below three Kobe 5 Protro colorways have been scheduled for August 23 (Big Stage), August 24 (Lakers) and August 29 (EYBL).

Iâ€m excited to see these on the calendar but the issue here is going to be production. I doubt Nike spent the past 6 months making more of these. The Big Stage I recall I announced for release in January and then it was obviously delayed with Kobeâ€s tragic passing.

Nike Basketball releases, when compared to a Jordan drop, are very limited. Its because they normally just donâ€t sell as well, basketball never has. When a store gets 200-300 pairs of an AJ5 or AJ14, they will get 24-36 pairs of a Kobe drop like this or a Lebron 7.

If Nike produced a normal run of inventory for these Kobeâ€s and did not make more over the past few months than these releases are going to be an absolute shit show, raffled everywhere and very difficult to get.

I was honestly hoping we wouldnt see another Kobe drop this year so that Nike spent time producing more. I will know more about stock later this month so far now these are my expectations.
