More is expected for the Yeezy GAP line following several Yeezy GAP hoodies and round jackets.
Kanye West and Demna Gvasalia, creative director of Balenciaga and cofounder of Vetements, are joining forces and launching Yeezy GAP Engineered by Balenciaga.
However, this isn’t the first time the two have worked together. The Georgian designer was part of the Yeezy Season 1 creative team, which included Jerry Lorenzo and Virgil Abloh. Demna was the artistic director for Ye’s DONDA streaming and release events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Soldier Field.
Kanye broke the news with an Instagram post that dated the legal agreement to the collaboration on December 29, 2021. Although, none of the three parties involved have issued an official statement.
It’s unclear what we can expect from the partnership as no images or samples have leaked from the collection. However, both Ye’s and Demna’s past work indicate that we could very well see heavy use of black across the collections.
An official release date for the Yeezy GAP Engineered by Balencia line has not been announced. However, we expect the collection to roll out this summer on YeezyGap.com.
