Zion’s love for anime is no secret. The NBA All-Star has already joined forces with the iconic Masashi Kishimoto for a collection based on his extremely popular series Naruto with the Jordan Zion 1. Z is joining up with Team 7 once more for another Naruto collaboration, this time on the new Air Jordan 37.
While his last collection drew from the design of the characters themselves, this upcoming colorway takes from Naruto’s signature move, the Rasengan, a ball of swirling blue chakra. The look is emulated throughout the silhouette, with the sneaker being comprised of shades of blue, mirroring the attack. The sneaker includes references to Naruto himself as well, including the shock of yellow spikes at the top of the tongue representing his distinctive hairstyle, the cobranded forehead protectors on the tongue, and stripes on the ankle pads akin to Naruto’s fox markings. Naruto’s Japanese and English catchphrases, “だってばよ!” and “ Believe It!” on the back of the tongue and Rasengan branded insoles complete the look.
The Zion Williamson x Naruto Jordan 37 “Rasengan” is set to release February 20 via Nike and select retailers.
