The Air Jordan 5 “Dunk on Mars” Heads to the Red Planet

The Air Jordan 5 is one of His Airness’ most famed silhouettes thanks to its bold tongue and WW2 fighter plane-inspired design. Jordan Brandâ€s upcoming Air Jordan 5 WMNS “Dunk on Mars” takes inspiration from Spike Leeâ€s iconic Air Jordan character Mars Blackmon and the red planet.

The colorway is evocative of the famed Air Jordan 5, albeit with a bit more of an earthy tone. Whereas the Toro Bravo features a bold red throughout the sneaker, the upcoming Air Jordan 5 WMNS “Dunk on Mars” comes with a more dusty red and yellowed accents on the plastic portions like the side cage, lace lock, and semi-translucent outsole. Even the sneakerâ€s signature shark teeth have an aged, fading look to them. 23 embroidery on the lateral heel and the Air Jordan 5â€s staple reflective tongue complete the look.

The Air Jordan 5 WMNS “Dunk on Mars” is set to release on January 14 for $200 via Nike and select retailers.
