AURALEE and New Balance Take On The New Balance 2002R

The New Balance 2002R has been one of the biggest success stories in recent years. It has blossomed from neglected “dad shoe” to pop culture icon in a few years with help from Joe Freshgoods and Bryant Giles to name a few. Tokyo-based brand AURALEE and New Balance have more on the schedule. After teaming up on the New Balance 550 and most recently the New Balance XC-72 the two are joining up for two new colorways of the 2002R.

The two colorways feature a mixture of suede, mesh, and leather materials for a premium feel on both. One features a white base with various shades of brown on the suede accents near the heel. The other colorway features more yellow colorblocking along with those same suede accents giving it a more tonal feel than the white version. Both include an aged N-ERGY midsole to create the vintage look that’s taking over today. The AURALEE X New Balance 2002R drops on September 9 via select retailers.
