Bricks & Wood has more on the way this year. Following last summer’s release with New Balance and its 57/40, the South Central Los Angeles-based company is teaming up with K-Swiss.
The Bricks & Wood x K-Swiss collab is not only paying homage to the culture and the trailblazers of yesterday but will highlight the Black and Brown designers of the future. “This collaboration with K-Swiss highlights the future of Black & Brown designers while simultaneously paying homage to the road paved before us. Regardless if we got the recognition deserved or not, we have always been here,” the brand stated in its announcement.
The collab ties back to The Golden State as K-Swiss was founded in California in 1966 and is revered as one of the staple tennis footwear brands. Tying back to B&W’s roots, the Bricks & Wood x K-Swiss Classic VN is a modern reinterpretation of California’s version of the AF1.
“The role of K-Swiss plays on our heritage within California/West Coast culture is undeniable, so being able to bring this to fruition while paying it forward to the past, present, & future generations to come is something we are surely proud of,” Bricks & Wood added in its post.
The Bricks & Wood x K-Swiss Classic VN releases on May 20 at Bricks & Wood and online on May 23 on BricksandWood.us, and potentially on KSwiss.com. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
