WNBA All-Star and Washington Mystics Forward Elena Delle Donne is one of the coldest to do it on the court. The two-time MVP is one of the deadliest scorers in the league and can get a bucket from anywhere on the court. Now, the long-time Nike athlete is receiving her own signature shoe the Nike Air Deldon.
The Air Deldon is a basketball shoe with accessibility at the forefront. The sneaker’s upper is constructed with Flyease, Nike’s technology that allows wearers of all abilities to wear sneakers. Delle Donne was a major supporter of the Nike Zoom UNVRS released in 2019 and has worn sneakers with FlyEase since its debut. EDD is one of the biggest proponents of FlyEase as her older sister Lizzie was born with cerebral palsy and autism and has had difficulty with footwear her entire life.
The sneaker features velcro on the medial and lateral sides for easy access, and the large Swoosh on the lateral and medial sides bridge together to form a heel counter using FlyEase technology. Other details include an “EDD” tag on the lateral side of the toebox, DELDON branding on the heel counter, and a midsole with an Air Strobel. A release date for the Nike Air Deldon has yet to be announced but expect it to be released soon via Nike and select retailers.
