Kith Women for Aaliyah Capsule
In honor of Aaliyah and her legacy, Kith teamed up with Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton and the manager of her estate to release a collaborative collection. They brought on renowned photographer Robert Whitman for the capsule to feature images he shot of her that have never been revealed.
Aaliyah, the princess of R&B, will be honored with a short film that includes female students from her high school, The Detroit School of Arts. The initiative behind this allows the students to showcase their talents and encourages future generations. Additionally, Kith is giving 100% of the capsule’s earnings to Aaliyah’s high school and to the non-profit organization I Support The Girls, known for delivering essential goods.
The collection includes hoodies, cropped sweatshirts, and tees. The Kith Women for Aaliyah Capsule is now available on the Kith website.

WNBA Star Brittney Griner Detained in Russia
Brittany Griner, the Phoenix Mercury center, has been detained in Russia on alleged drug charges. Griner was at Sheremetyevo airport near Moscow when the airport staff discovered vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage. The Russian Customs Service revealed a video of Brittney Griner going through security screening as airport staff searched through her belongings.
The most alarming part of this is that the incident occurred in February, so we can assume that the WNBA star has been detained since then. Since the story broke, many have taken to the internet with the problematic silence of these details, especially during a time of duress and danger in Russia.
Why isn’t this a bigger story, and why is she still there?
Griner’s agent, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, stated, “We are aware of the situation with Brittney Griner in Russia and are in close contact with her, her legal representation in Russia, her family, her teams, and the WNBA and NBA.”
