Marvel and BAPE Add Three New BAPESTAs to the Collection

(Update 12/5) New additions to the 2022 Marvel x BAPESTA collection are on the way with new colorways inspired by Spider-Man, Venom, and Doctor Strange set to release on December 11 via BAPE stores and BAPE online retailers.

Before there was the MCU, there was the BAPE Cinematic Universe. In 2005, Marvel partnered up with A Bathing Ape for a collaborative collection that included the BAPESTA in various Marvel hero colorways including Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man. BAPE recently announce the return of those aforementioned colorways as well as the addition of two new colors representing Rocket Raccoon of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Russian Avenger Black Widow.

Like the 2005 release, the silhouettes will all feature a glossy patent leather build and an image of the character they represent on the lateral heel of the shoe and the classic Marvel ‘M†logo on the medial heel. However, these are not simply a redux of the 2005 run as each embroidered character gets an action portrait instead of the headshots found on the original. The Marvel x BAPESTA 2022 collection is set to release on August 21 in China followed by a US release later this year online and at BAPE storefronts.
