New Balance Gives 990v2, 990v3, and 996 the Made in USA Treatment

New Balance 990V2 Made in USA Dusk

New Balance’s venerable Made in USA collection is adding three new sneakers into the mix this week.

New colorways of the 990V2 and 990V3 are out now in limited quantities and with the higher quality that domestic production brings. The 990V2 arrives in “Dusk,” an outdoorsy colorway that pairs brown with purple, orange, and grey accents. Slightly brighter is the 990V3 “Shoreline,” which sees tan take over with hits of the same brown, purple, and orange. Both sneakers feature a mix of suede and mesh along with reflective detailing.

Rounding out the trio of kicks is a blue-heavy 996 set to release March 3. Two shades of blue make up the majority of the upper, while a tan heel and cream midsole provide contrast. The kicks utilize a shaggier suede along with mesh and woven tongue label and sock liner. Each pair of kicks in New Balance’s Made in USA collection is produced “at least 70 percent” in the United States.
