As the Year of the Tiger wanes, the year of the rabbit approaches. As a part of the upcoming Chinese New Year collection, Nike has unveiled official images of the Nike Air Huarache Craft “Lunar New Year.” The silhouette remixes the iconic Nike Air Huarache International from 1992 to a more futuristic, Nike ISPA-inspired look.
The upcoming sneaker features a white leather base with a blend of materials throughout, including hints of suede. Special graphics appear on the tongue, inner booties, and insoles. Mini Swooshes appear on the toe cap and are attached to the cage-like side panels. A retooled, thinner ankle heel counter replaces the signature thick heel bar found on the original Huarache, while a thick semi-transparent sole unit completes the look.
A release date for the Nike Air Huarache Craft “Lunar New Year” has yet to be announced but look for it to release via Nike and select retailers soon. The retail price tag is set at $130.
