The Nike Air Penny 2 is Getting A Patent Makeover

2022 is the year of Penny Hardaway. After a successful collaboration with Social Status on the Air Max Penny 1 and one with the Air Penny 2 underway, the Memphis product is getting even more colorways of his popular sneakers. With Stussy’s Penny 2 still in the pipeline, Nike is offering up a new general release of the shoe. 

The Nike Air Penny 2 is getting a new colorway that features a black leather base with patent leather overlays along the heel and mudguard giving it a pronounced Air Jordan 11 feel. Pennyâ€s iconic 1-cent logo appears prominently throughout the sneaker, including on the lateral ankle, tongue, and heel. A bold white midsole and translucent outsole complete the look and reinforce the Air Jordan-esque vibes. A release date for the Nike Air Penny 2 with black patent has yet to be announced but look for it to drop via Nike and select retailers.
