Rihanna and Puma look to pick up where they left off with 2016’s massive Creeper success with another design inspired by the brand’s archives. After announcing the return of the Fenty x Puma partnership in March, Rihanna is set to release her remixed Avanti sneaker on September 15. The sneaker taps into the growing global popularity of football culture by using the upper of the King boot, a popular design worn by Pelé when he won the 1970 World Cup title. Combined with an Easy Rider running shoe outsole, the Avanti looks to provide Puma with a competitor to the adidas Samba craze.
Since their first partnership ended, Rihanna’s Fenty empire has continued to grow, as well as her family. The new additions to her family influenced Puma to release the Avanti in full family sizing. The Fenty x Puma Avanti releases on September 5, on Puma.com and in select retailers for $80 in infant, $95 in kids’ and $160 in adult sizes.
