How long have you been collecting sneakers?

I started collecting sneakers in 2011.

How many pairs do you currently have in your closet?

I’m sitting on over 200 pairs now.

How long have you been a member?

I joined at the end of Jan 2021.

What is the oldest sneaker in your collection?

KicksHawaii x Nike Dunk Low “Aloha” is my oldest pair (2004). They mean a lot to me because KicksHawaii was the shop that introduced me to the world of sneakers.

What’s the sneaker that got you hooked?

There are two answers to this question for me. The Nike SB Janoski showed me there was a whole scene behind sneakers. The OG Diamond SB Low “Tiffany” made me fall in love with sneakers. It took a long time to get them (I should have picked them up before the SB craze), but I finally got them last year and am very glad to have them.

What’s your best steal or retail cop?

My biggest retail cop was the Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red October. Don’t ask me how I got them because I still don’t know to this day!

What’s “the one that got away” for you?

A couple of pairs come to mind, but the ICA Off-White Air Force 1 really stings. I was living in Boston at the time and went to the exhibit a couple of days before the drop happened.

What are five sneakers every person should have?

1) Nike Air Max 90

2) Adidas Stan Smith

3) New Balance 990 (I prefer v4)

4) Vans Old Skool

5) Air Jordan 4

What’s a sneaker in your collection that always gets looks/compliments when you wear them?

Recently I’ve gotten a lot of comments and compliments about the Salehe Crocs in the “Urchin” colorway.

What’s the most you’ve done for a pair of shoes?

I planned a whole trip and flew home to camp out for the Kith Hawaii opening and the Air Force 1 release. I would say that most people who know me would probably call me the biggest fan of Kith that they know. When the store and shoe were announced, I immediately started looking into plane tickets. Going home for the grand opening of my favorite brand while getting to experience an opening release for the first time in my life seemed like a no-brainer. The release was a mess in terms of logistics and security, partly because the hotel didn’t want people camping out. I got the shoes and a bit of extra time with my family and friends, making for a trip I’ll never forget.

What pairs do you have for sale or trade right now?

I have a handful of pairs on COLLECT right now including the OG Sacai x Nike LD Waffle, and the Kasina Air Max 1s in Grey.

What pairs are you currently watching / what will be your next pick-up?

I’ve been chasing older pairs recently. A recent release I’ve been searching for is the Travis Scott x Fragment Jordan 1 Low, and an old release I’ve been chasing is the Black Mint suede Janoski. I would love to get the recently released Kith NB 990v3 Steel Blue.

How do you think the sneaker game has changed since you started collecting?

There are so many resources available online to help people get into sneakers. SoleSavy is the best one, of course. It’s been great in some ways, like helping newer people get into sneakers, but it’s also made some shoes less attainable than usual.

What is your biggest frustration with sneakers as a whole right now?

SNKRS SNKRS SNKRS. Nike hates me for some reason LOL. On a serious note, it feels like the realm of sneakers is saturated with releases. This could just be me being more experienced, but it does feel like every major brand is pumping out something new almost every week.

Brand rapid-fire – What is your favorite Nike, adidas, Jordan, New Balance model?

Nike – SB Dunk Low

Adidas – Campus

Jordan – Jordan 4

New Balance – 998
