How long have you been collecting sneakers?
I’ve been collecting sneakers since 2003 (thanks to my parents), but I got rid of my entire collection in 2016 after the market shifted to mostly online releases. I got tired of striking out and stepped away from sneakers until someone told me about SoleSavy.
How many pairs do you currently have in your closet?
I currently have a few pairs north of 50 sneakers in my closet. All acquired after I became a SoleSavy member!
How long have you been a member?
I’ve been a SoleSavy member for 2 years.
What is the oldest sneaker in your collection?
My oldest pair currently is the Air Jordan 1 “Mocha.”
What’s the sneaker that got you hooked?
The 2003 Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red.” The 3s are my all-time favorite silhouette!
What’s your best steal or retail cop?
My best retail cop is probably the Air Jordan 4 “Taupe Haze.” It was my first time putting SoleSavy to use. I had to have them, and I was ready to pay resell if I had to. I was in shock when I received my confirmation email!
What’s “the one that got away” for you?
I totally slept on the New Balance 2002r “Protection Pack.” Whenever I see them on feet, I get so upset with myself.
What are five sneakers every person should have?
Air Jordan 3 White Cement, Any Air Jordan 1 High, Crispy White Air Force 1s, Air Max 95s, and a comfy pair of New Balances.
What’s a sneaker in your collection that always gets looks/compliments when you wear them?
My Salehe Bembury x New Balance Yurts. I wore them to a work party once, and I actually blew the whistle. Everyone’s mind was blown.
What’s the most you’ve done for a pair of shoes?
The most I’ve done for a pair of shoes is sleep overnight in the mall bathroom. I had to have the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam!”
Best sneaker trade?
The best sneaker trade I’ve done is a size swap for the Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found.” I had early access to JD Sports, but my size wasn’t available, so I grabbed a different size in hopes of trading with another SoleSavy member. It all worked out perfectly, thanks to COLLECT!

What pairs are you currently watching / what will be your next pick-up?
I’m currently waiting for my A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4s to show up. I’ll definitely be greeting the mailman at the door that day!
How do you think the sneaker game has changed since you started collecting?
It’s gotta be the shift to online and bots. It used to be so easy to just wait in line at a retailer and secure a pair of shoes. Nowadays, most people legitimately think their best shot at copping sneakers is to run to secondary market apps.
What is your biggest frustration with sneakers as a whole right now?
Shoes people love and would actually wear are sitting in someone’s basement being sold at a crazy markup price. That’s not fair. I hope these big names like Nike and Adidas do something meaningful to change this ASAP!
