Kanye West Says He Should Be Allowed To Wear Jordans Despite adidas Partnership

Kanye West was the latest guest on Nick Cannon’s podcast “Cannon’s Class” where the two discussed his adidas deal, presidency ventures, and his thoughts on Nike and Jordan Brand. During the conversation, West tells Cannon that he wishes he could still wear Air Jordan sneakers but that his contract with adidas prevents him from doing so. “Man I was just thinking, in my adidas contract, I definitely should be able to wear Jordans. Jordans need to be part of reparations. You can’t tell a Black man not to wear Jordans. It should be in any deal. And also, you can wear your friend’s clothes.”

This isn’t the first time that West has strayed from the script and discussed his continued appreciation for his partners’ competitor. Just last month West praised the work of Nike iSPA and its $500 Road Warrior silhouette for its innovative design and earlier in the year he told GQ magazine he wouldn’t mind if Nike ever retro’d the Air Yeezys.
