With the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 release on the way, Virgil Abloh and Nike continue to keep applying pressure. The OFF-WHITE x Nike partnership extends onto its fifth year in 2022, the collaborative effort is tapping into a forgotten classic. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid is the next canvas for Abloh and the Swoosh as the mid-top sneaker is reimagined.
Releasing in both a black and white colorway, the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1 Mid continues the OFF-WHITE streak of adding technical features to members of the Swoosh catalogue. The pair features signature features such as the overlace structure, an exposed layer, a zip-tag, and the OFF-WHITE x Nike branding on the shoe’s medial side. The differences lie in the AF1 Mids’ exposed Air unit as well as a waffle outsole integration that can’t be missed with its bright contrast to the relatively monotone pairs.
Like most OFF-WHITE x Nike creations, there’s scrutiny and doubt attached with early images and leaks dominating the internet. Though, as Virgil has proved time after time, there’s a method to the madness that makes his work worth pursuing. A release date for the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1 Mid collection has yet to be officially announced, so stay tuned to SoleSavy for more.
