Shopify Queue Bypass Guide

We’ve all been in this situation. The product drops, you quickly select your size. Your hands are shaking as it adds to cart. You press ‘check out’. You’re almost there. Then bam, you’re hit with a ‘In Line – Waiting To Checkout’ message.

You’ve been placed into a queue, and 9 times out of 10, you’ve taken an L. There is ways around this but it doesn’t always work. This should be treated as a way of helping your odds of bypassing Shopify’s incredibly broken queue system but may also not work 9 times out of 10. If you’ve already read the Pre-Cart guide then you’re halfway there. This method is similar but specifically helps with potentially bypassing the queue.

We’re going to use Yeezy Supply as an example to show you how this method works. It will work in theory on any Shopify site.

  1. Add any product to cart
  2. “Check Out”
  3. Fill out your billing and shipping information
  4. Bookmark the checkout page.
  5. Clear your cart
  6. Test it out
  7. Get ready for the next drop

Understanding What This Trick Does

It’s important you understand how this method works and what it accomplishes. It’s the same steps as a pre-cart but you save the payment page checkout URL and make a bookmark with it. Now when a product releases and you are put in queue the bookmark link you made tricks the Shopify system into thinking you went through queue already just now (when you really did it earlier) and sends you direct to check out.

THIS METHOD SHOULD BE DONE AS CLOSE TO RELEASE TIME AS POSSIBLE.

1. Add to cart
To test this out head to any product on the page that is relatively inexpensive. We don’t want you accidentally checking out a $1000 pair of women’s boots. For now lets use these socks.

2. “Check Out”
We put that in quotes because you’re not actually going to check out, but we will get to the very end of the checkout process. After you’ve added the socks to your cart, click check out. It should redirect you to fill out your info.

3. Fill out your information
Now that you’ve added the socks to your cart you can start filling out your shipping info. Fill it out with the address you wish to ship your item to when the actual product you’re after drops. *Some sites will require your billing/shipping to match depending on the release, so keep that in mind.

4. Bookmark the checkout page
We’ve now filled out all of our shipping and billing info and we’re ready to “purchase” the socks. You should be on a page now that asks for all of your payment info. Here is the most important part of this step. You’re going to want to bookmark this payment check out page you are on. If you’re in chrome head to the top of your window and click bookmark > bookmark this page > and name it ‘Yeezy Supply Checkout’ or if you’re setting this up on a different site, do the same but name it differently. Ex. ‘Haven Checkout’. Make sure it’s one of the first buttons in your bookmark bar so you can quickly access it during a drop.

5. Clear your cart
Now you can clear your cart and get ready for the upcoming drop. You have the checkout bookmark in place and this will allow you to bypass that ‘Waiting In Line’ page.

6. Test It

Head back into the site you’re testing on and find another product to checkout with. After you’ve selected one and hit add to cart, immediately press the bookmark button you created. You should be instantly redirected to the check-out page. If this was a real release, all you would have to do is autofill your credit card and hit ‘check out’.

7. Get ready for the next drop

This method is for Shopify based sites only. So feel free to practice and get ready for the next drop with different sites and bookmarks. Some notable sites you can test with:

  • Haven
  • Livestock
  • DSM
  • YeezySupply
  • Undefeated

As we said, this method isn’t always effective, but it can greatly help your odds with trying to bypass the queue page depending on a Shopify sites settings.
