The Whitaker Group continues its hot streak, adding an All Points Bulletin x Florida A&M University LeBron XX to its already impressive collection of collaborations. With the upcoming LeBron XX silhouettes scheduled to release on June 2nd, APB makes brand history by completing its first collab with Nike.
APB and FAMU came together to shine a light on local stories and communities in Tallahassee, Florida, where both happen to be located. Nike and LeBron James have been outfitting the Florida A&M men’s and women’s basketball teams since 2021. The student-athletes received university-exclusive footwear and apparel from James’ signature line. The King James’ signature “crown” logo was placed on the jerseys as well.
Mimicking the Rattlers, the APB x FAMU LeBron XX is dressed in ivory and orange. Both pairs feature premium leather uppers, APB branding along the insole and tongue, and a Florida A&M logo on the heel with snakeskin finishes throughout the shoe.
James Whitner is the founder and CEO of The Whitaker Group, which owns sneaker boutiques APB and Prosper as well as the Social Status and A Ma Maniere. Whitner was a guest on the SoleSavy Podcast and talked about The Whitaker Group’s mission and how they work on making sneaker releases fair.
As you should know, The Whitaker Group isn’t a stranger to working with Nike or Jordan Brand, as the parties have joined forces on several silhouettes dating back to 2019. In 2021, Social Status partnered with Nike when they released school lunch-themed “Strawberry Milk” and “Chocolate Milk” Dunk Mids, and in the same year, AMM debuted the Air Jordan 3 “Raised By Women,” to name a few.
The APB x FAMU LeBron XX will be released on June 2nd in limited quantities at 10 AM EST, exclusively online at apbstore.com and in-store at all APB locations. Retail is set for $200, and extended sizing will be available.
