Former MVP James Harden has been a staple for adidas with his seventh signature shoe with the Three Stripes on the horizon. The sneaker is a renewed look for the Philadelphia 76ers guard’s line with a shiny leather toe cap to harken back to the sneakers of yesteryear.
The upcoming adidas Harden Vol. 7 “Better Scarlet” comes in a look suited for his old team with its blend of red and black. The silhouette features a mesh construction with quilted side panels and glossy patent leather on the toe. Black accents appear on the inner bootie, heel pull tab, laces, and the Three Stripes logo that runs vertically down the heels. A hint of white Boost in the midsole covered by a red semi-translucent outsole completes the look.
“With the Harden Vol. 7 we wanted to create a shoe that, like James, blurs the lines between performance, fashion and lifestyle,” Eric Wise, Adidas Basketball’s Global General Manager, said in a release. “A true embodiment of style, ingenuity, swagger and ultimately confidence.”
New tech comes in the form of the caged Jet Boost midsole, which improves stability and energy return. “Street luxe” Lightstrike is also used in the midsole to provide responsive cushioning and movement, while a two-layer heel counter adds support and cushioning. A knit bootie helps to lock in the foot, and full-length propulsion plates support acceleration. Down low, a multi-directional herringbone pattern is used on the outsole for agility and traction during cuts.
