adidas Originals is celebrating the City of Angels with the launch of the LA adidas Superstar II, a limited-edition sneaker created in collaboration with Qias Omar and Private Sneakers.
The LA Superstar reimagines the iconic silhouette through the lens of Los Angeles’ vintage and streetwear culture, reinforcing the Superstar’s legacy as both a fashion staple and a cultural symbol of originality.
Every detail of the LA Superstar II pays tribute to the city that inspired it. Its faded black upper and cracked leather Three Stripes channel LA’s lived-in edge. Meanwhile, the graffiti insoles nod to its streetwear DNA. Finishing touches include a street sign hangtag, star-printed laces, and an Adidas angel wings logo. The sneaker also features a vintage T-shirt tongue tag and palm tree pins pulled straight from the Adidas archives.
The collaborators are also releasing two tees to accompany the LA adidas Superstar II, featuring rock-inspired graphics that reflect the city’s music and layered style history, completing a look that is unmistakably rooted in Los Angeles.
To celebrate the release, Private Sneakers’ Long Beach store will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind ‘Sneaker Diner’ pop-up on Saturday, September 27 where customers can ‘order’ the LA Superstar II and adidas apparel from a playful menu in an immersive environment inspired by classic fast-food culture. adidas and Qias are also partnering with legendary LA-based sneaker retailer Shiekh to further bring the release to life, creating a pop-up experience inside Vintage Land (Los Feliz Flea Market) on Saturday, October 4.
“The Superstar is one of the most legendary sneakers of all time, and being able to put my own spin on it is a dream come true,” said Qias Omar. “I moved to LA exactly 10 years ago to chase my dreams, and this city has completely changed my life. Designing a sneaker dedicated to Los Angeles is my way of saying thank you — to the city, the culture, and the community that has inspired and motivated me since day one.”
The LA adidas Superstar II will be available early for $100 at Private Sneakers in Long Beach, CA on September 27, 2025 and select Shiekh retail locations on October 4, 2025.
