The closest thing to a Turtle Doves 2.0 we’ll probably ever get, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Zyon” colorway has been at the top of people’s radars for weeks. Now, after a month-long delay likely due in part to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the “Zyon” 350 V2 will release online in full family sizing July 18th, 2020 for $220 USD.
The sneaker opts for a mixture of dark brown and beige tones that mesh together perfectly together to create a striking color palette that fits right at home with YEEZY’s best earth-toned offerings. The ribbed, bright white, translucent rubber outsole is the only portion of the shoe that isn’t some variation of brown or beige and is thus the perfect contrasting element to make the shoe really pop. A light gray sockliner and ankle are subtle and do not distract from the rest of the shoe. The intricate 350 V2 primeknit patterning on its upper continues on the “Zyon” colorway but this time with a very dark brown, nearly black colored stripe stretched across the lateral portions of the shoe, hiding most of the transparent qualities of the stripe’s material.
Finally, Kanye West’s Christian references are still on display in his naming of products here. While “Yecheil” & “Yeshaya” 350s were plays on Kanye’s name and references to the Bible’s “Book of Ezekiel” and the word “Messiah” respectively, the “Zyon” colorway is a play on the word ‘Zion‘.
