One of Jordan Brand’s most beloved sneakers, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Banned “Black/Red” will be getting a slight makeover in 2020 as it arrives in an AJ 1 Mid version later this year. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, Nike has already produced some official photos of the AJ 1 Mid “Black/Red”.
Smooth, black leather is used for the ankle collar, medial and lateral paneling, bottom portion of the lacestays, and the mudguard, creating a near mirror reflection of the High colorway. The Air Jordan Wings logo is stamped in black across the lace collar while the tongue features a “Jumpman” logo across its tag. Black laces, a crisp white midsole, and a matching red outsole complete the look. With only the lacestays deviating slightly from the original’s colorblocking, this release is all but guaranteed to further help cement the AJ 1 Mid as a widely accepted model after years of living in the AJ 1 High’s shadow.
