Allbirds and adidas are changing the footwear landscape with the upcoming collaboration that puts the planet first.
The Allbirds x adidas FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT is the future of performance and innovation for both brands as the end product brings forth a running shoe with no carbon footprint. At 2.94kg CO2e, the FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT carries the ethos of both brands for a running shoe that stretches the possibilities of saving the planet with every step. The pair was created with 63% less emissions as sustainability is truly at the core of the pair.
“Our partnership with Allbirds is a beacon of what can happen when competing brands from the same industry see the possibilities in coming together to design. By truly co-creating and providing each other with open access to knowledge and resources – such as Allbirds’ knowledge of carbon calculation and experience with natural materials, and adidas’ capabilities in manufacturing and performance footwear – this is a call-to-action for other brands, and a milestone in the sports industry achieving carbon neutrality,” said Brian Grevy, Executive Board Member Global Brands at adidas.
Following the FUTURECRAFT.FOOTPRINT’s initial launch in May, the shoe will see a wider release on December 15 at adidas.com, the adidas and Allbirds apps, and select adidas and Allbirds stores. Four new colorways will be available in Spring 2022. The shoe retails for $120. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
