The long-awaited collaboration between Air Jordan and Awake NY is upon us.
The New York brand is among Jordan Brand’s newest collaboration partners. Their introductory project on the Air Ship was welcomed by the sneaker community- and was a taste of what to come.
First teased in February in a lookbook, the Bubble Gum Air Jordan 5 popped expectations. It’s bold coloring, and the unique “a” branding on the iconic Jordan 5 netting grabbed fans’ attention.
A second colorway surfaced a few month later in May. The Racer Blue colorway felt closer to the world of Jordan Brand colorways. It channels Jordan’s love for motorsports, all the while appearing with a trendy y2k contrast stitching look.
Since being teased, the Awake NY Air Jordan 5s have been a highly anticipated release for sneakerheads. Today, we finally have the release details- courtesy of Awake NY.

The more hype pairs of the two, the Bubble Gum colorway, is expected to be an exclusive to Awake NY. Meanwhile, the Racer Blue pair will receive a wider release, including a drop on SNKRS.
The online raffles, hosted by EQL, will launch on Sunday, August 17th at 10 AM EST. That same day, Awake NY’s flagship store will be hosting an in-store release for the Bubble Gum colorway only. The online raffle will close Sunday, with winners announced that night.
Awake NY’s refreshing spin on the Jordan 5 is a clear welcome to the world of sneakers. With such a limited release, the SoleSavy DROPS app will be vital to aquiring the Racer Blue pair when it recieves a wider release later this year.
