Brain Dead and Oakley have been an ideal match for giving new life to archival footwear, and the two partners are giving it another go on the Chop Saw silhouette.
The Los Angeles-based streetwear brand is dropping three variants of the hiking sneaker with a cult following. While last year’s duo of collaborative Chop Saws emphasized suede, the new trio switches things up with options of either nubuck or jacquard. Both the “All-Black” and “Olive” versions opt for nubuck with mesh paneling on the tongue, collar, and an additional panel at midfoot. “Jacquard Red,” meanwhile, sees a white and red honeycomb pattern envelop the upper, a look that pairs well with the mesh detailing.
A carbon fiber heel counter provides lightweight stability at the heel of all three colorways, and the jagged sole unit is the reason why so many archival Instagram accounts love the Chop Saw.
All three versions of the Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Team Chop Saw are slated to release April 18 through Brain Dead’s website, as well as select Brain Dead and Oakley stores. Pricing has yet to be announced, but you can download the DROPS by SoleSavy app for any and all updates.
