After first being seen on the inimitable Hiroshi Fujiwara, we now have a closer look at the Japanese designer’s latest collaboration with Jordan Brand. With no new releases since Fujiwara’s ‘ legendary Fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2015, the AJ 3 stands out among a year full of hot releases.
Seen here via leaked images by @HanZuYing, the Fragment AJ 3 is done in a monochrome colorway with some small but noteworthy additions. First off the shoe’s upper is done in White leather with additional White mesh around the lace stays and ankle collar. The midsole, outsole, tongue, and lace stays are also a uniform White. Black leather overlays are added across the lower perimeter of the upper serving as one of the few areas of the shoe not done in clean White. Fragment’s lightning bolt logo is stamped on the posterior lateral portion of the overlay just like the AJ 1s. Just above the midsole’s exposed Air unit is Black text with the shoe’s style code and “Fragment Design”. The white, translucent heel tab features a debossed Jumpman logo and black “AIR” branding below it while underneath the tab is a large Fragment Design lightning bolt done in Black. With this shoe possessing both the Fragment Design branding and a versatile colorway fir for any occasion, this collab has quickly become one of the year’s most anticipated drops.
