COMME des GARÇONS and Nike have more on the way.
Following the success of last year’s CDG x Nike Air Foamposite One, the Homme Plus branch continues its relationship with the Swoosh.
Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus line takes on the Air Max 97 as the silhouette celebrates its 25th anniversary. Though Nike has yet to confirm what’s in-store for the classic trainer, the OG “Silver Bullet” and “Atlantic Blue” colorways are reportedly coming back (however, with a price increase).
Like the preceding Foamposite and Air Carnivore releases, the latest CDG x Nike collab includes two colorways: all-black with a stonewash finish and a light blue upper with hits of white that accentuate the iteration. Debuted at CDG’s AW22 runway show, the upcoming CDG x Nike Air Max 97 features little to no CDG branding as far as we know. Nonetheless, the upcoming collab adds to the partnership and further cements the importance of the Air Max 97 in sneakers, fashion, and beyond.
A release date for the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max 97 collection has not been announced. However, we expect the pair to release in the upcoming months. A price point for the colorways is unknown as well. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
