Corteiz’s rapid ascendancy continues this week with the much-anticipated drop of its first Nike collaboration.
The London-based streetwear brand has announced its gully Air Max 95 will release Friday. The launch marks a quick and unexpected shift for Corteiz, which was sued by Nike just two years ago for the similarity of its name to the Cortez model.
Corteiz brings a military look to the AM95, beginning with a net-like material used for the upper most panel. Fatigue green then appears on the two wavy stripes below, followed by gunmetal on the third, toe panel, and mudguard. Yellow Air units provide a bit of pop from the black sole, while drawstring lacing adds to the theme. Graffiti-like Corteiz branding is embroidered onto the toe and heel, and the coveted Alcatraz logo sits on the tongue.
After being teased for much of the year, the Corteiz Air Max 95 is dropping with little notice Friday. The streetwear brand’s website will be the only place to get it tomorrow, but a Nike release could be imminent as well. Pricing has yet to be announced, but as always, download the DROPS by SoleSavy app for any and all updates.
