For years, Nike has approached designers with an opportunity to create their own SB Dunk Low. For the first time in a while, the reigns have been handed over to actual skateboarders.
The Crenshaw Skate Club is the latest to collaborate with Nike on the highly sought-after silhouette. For starters, we have a transparent, icy blue outsole with a CSC drawing attached. Materials include multicolor suedes and leather, coming in a maroon-purple and mint green. The logo for the Crenshaw Skate Club appears on the right heel, dressed in baby blue. The silhouette will come with a yellow and red set of laces.
If you’re wondering how the Nike Dunks are different, you should know the standard Nike Dunk doesn’t have as much padding in the collar or tongue as its SB counterpart. On top of that, SB Dunks have a thicker outsole, ideal for skaters to experiment with.
Also, CSC founder Tobey McIntosh has previously worked with Nike and Jordan Brand. Last year, he designed an Air Jordan 36 Low that didn’t receive a release date. Pairs were limited to friends and family.
We expect the Crenshaw Skate Club x Nike SB Dunk Low to release this October. Keep it locked in for more details.
UPDATE (6/6/2023): Official images of the Crenshaw Skate Club x Nike SB Dunk Low have surfaced.
