HAL Studios is back in the lab.
The Australian imprint’s next collaborative effort with Adidas is coming this year, and it’s on the Adidas Intimidation Low.
Originally released in 1999, the Intimidation was part of Adidas’ “Feet You Wear” campaign. The goal of this campaign was to create sneakers that mimicked the shape of human feet, ultimately allowing for better performance for athletes. The outsole of the sneaker might look familiar, as it was borrowed by Kanye West and the Adidas Yeezy design team for the Yeezy 500.
Now, the HAL Studios is tapping into the vault and putting their spin on the 1990s trainer.
“Our iteration introduces a new, translucent RPU moulded cage, redesigned as a singular organic form. A minimalistic evolution of a silhouette that was truly ahead of its time”, is how Creative Director John Bouquet explained the design process when announcing the collaboration via Instagram.
With Packer releasing a collaborative set at the end of 2024, and HAL Studio’s latest announcement, it is clear that Adidas has put forth a lot of energy into bringing back the Intimidation the right way.
The HAL Studios x Adidas Intimidation Low will release sometime this year – in what appears to be three colorways. Stay up to date on this release and more via the SoleSavy DROPS app. There you can find the latest news details as well as release info and raffle management.
