Foot Locker Makes Adjustment to Launch Process with “Launch Reservation”

Retailers continue to find new ways to get sneakers in the hands of consumers. However, with shipping delays, botters, and a lack of supply with an unprecedented amount of demand, the task continues to grow out of hand.

Foot Locker, one of the largest corporate sneaker retailers, is trying to do their part with an update to its release system. The company has recently announced its Launch Reservation initiative. However, the “new” process appears to be more of the same system with two differences — if you win, the sneakers can now be shipped to you. Foot Locker adds that Launch Reservation also includes a “sign-up in advance of the product launch date – which will cut down customer and bot traffic the day of launch,” per a press release. The FLX Rewards and Head Starts system will continue to be the same under Launch Reservation.

This is the first time update to its release system since Foot Locker’s $100 million investment into reselling platform GOAT.
