The Canadian imprint is getting you ready to hit the trenches again.
JJJJound continues to put up numbers. Since releasing their collaborative 993 with New Balance, JJJJound has released nine collaborative footwear projects. Their busy 2025 continues with their latest collaboration, which brings us a reconnection with Frech footwear brand Salomon.
JJJJound and Salomon last collaborated in 2023, releasing a project on the XT-Wings 2. Their first project in two years is on Salomon’s most popular model- the XT-6.
The XT-6’s reputation precedes it. It is beloved by sneakerheads- as it is has perfectly blurred the lines between gorpcore and streetwear. Often the focus of attention of many Salomon collaborators, it did come as a surprise to many when the two brands introduced their partnership with a different sneaker. This time, JJJJound and Salomon are giving the fans what they want- in more ways than one.
The pair initially teased by JJJJound encapsulates the brand’s ethos. . The muted grey and black palette offers a versatile and contemporary option “rooted in Salomon’s own archive,” according to JJJJound. The muted colorway taps into the subtlety that has been expected of the brand. The only pops of color arrive in the brands use of red throughout the details and the iconic stripe on the tongue of the sneaker.
The second colorway, is damn near a culture shock. This primarily blue and yellow colorway is far away from the sneakers JJJJound typically puts out. The muted shades of grey or green are replaced by a vivid mix of blue, yellow, and black- meant to offer a “tasteful contrast to any outfit.” Critics of JJJJound’s collaborations need a new shoulder to lean on after this sneaker- who’s colorway is seemingly inspired by the stripe on the sneakers. Much like the initial colorway, this wolverine-like- pair is all tied together with red accents, further giving this sneaker a pop.
JJJJound and Salomon’s project on the XT-6 arrives on Thursday, August 7th at 9 AM EST via JJJJound.com and launches globally Friday August 8th at participating retailers.
