Last year, at just 18 years old, tennis phenom Coco Gauff was awarded her first signature sneaker, the Coco CG1. The ’90s basketball-inspired shoe has been treated to several colorways since, but none take the idea of “tennis shoe” as seriously as the new “Fuzzy Ace” variant.
The unmistakable yellow (or green) of tennis balls takes over the entire upper in an appropriately shaggy suede. The color also carries over the heel counter and an additional panel toward the toe atop the white sole. New Balance’s “N” logo appears in white on the Coco CG1’s lateral side, and the medial features a new tennis ball logo inset in white much like a ball’s stripes.
This standout version of the Coco CG1 is out now through New Balance’s website for $170. Select sizes have already sold out, so you may want to move quickly if you want your feet to say, “(tennis) ball is life.” Download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to stay up to speed on all on the hot new sneakers.
