Starting with the 7 in 1992, USA-themed Air Jordans have always been fan favorites. The second silhouette to don the Red, White, and Blue was the Air Jordan 6 in 2000 for the Summer Games in Sydney. This time, it wasn’t Michael Jordan but team Jumpman representatives Ray Allen and Vin Baker wearing them on their way to a gold medal. 2000 was a time period when retro sneakers were still new, and new releases often featured Air Jordan silhouettes in new palettes for the first time in history. The AJ6 “Olympics” delivered a brand new colorway with “Carmine” color blocking as a nod to the pair MJ wore during a photo shoot for the Dream Team in 1992.
The Air Jordan 6 ‘”Olympics” made its first return in 2012 to celebrate the London Olympics. It returns on August 3 at 7 AM PST for $200.
