UPDATE February 13, 2024: After former Nike executive Gentry Humprey shared an early look last April, we now see a different colorway of the Jordan 2-3. The new look comes courtesy of DJ_Sneakerhead, who received the pair during Jordan Brand’s Super Bowl activities in Las Vegas. The clean white and black colorway pairs a traditional AJ2 upper with AJ3 sole. The fusion model is expected to release this summer.
Fusion models like the Spizike, Jordan 6 Rings, and Dub Zero have become the butt of internet jokes over the last decade despite being top sellers. The Don C co-signed 312 model successfully reintroduced the concept of fusion sneakers briefly, but it has since become a “mall shoe” after the initial hype. Still, Jordan Brand knows what sells and continues to pump out new fusions that simultaneously become instant memes and revenue drivers. The latest in the controversial fusion catalog comes in the form of the “2-3” model, a nice play on MJ’s jersey number that fuses together an Air Jordan 2 upper with an Air Jordan 3 midsoles and outsole. Jordan Brand legend Gentry Humprey shared a first look at a Chicago-inspired colorway today.
