J. Cole continues to tease his highly anticipated “The Fall Off” album and new music isn’t the only project he’s been working on. Cole shared another look at his Dreamer “Indie 5000” sneaker in the “Might Delete Later” Volume 2 vlog. The clip shows multiple colorways of the new silhouette along with audio of Cole calling them “the prototype.” In the music playing over the clip of him playing basketball in the sneakers, Cole can be heard calling out the shoes and mentioning they were made “with Italians.”
The Indie 5000 design is a low-top silhouette reminiscent of 90s basketball and tennis sneakers. The name suggests it’s a play on the Indianapolis 500, and alludes to Cole’s advocacy for artists being independent. The multiplatinum (with no features) artist was previously signed to Puma, where he released a “Dreamer” version of their Rs sneaker. As the name states, Cole looks to be going independent with his footwear, too. Cole has been spotted in the Indie 5000 over the last two years, including on a special NBA2K23 cover in 2022 and at Dreamville Fest in 2023. Release information is not yet available, but signs are pointing towards a drop alongside his new album.
