Nike has another Air Force 1 for the National Puerto Rican Day Parade as the June festivity has inspired a series of AF1 colorways for los puertorriqueños.
However, the last few releases have been scrapped due to the backward use of the Puerto Rican flag to even using Panamanian art on a supposedly Puerto Rican-themed AF1. Though last year’s “Silver Bullet”-esque Air Max 97 “Puerto Rico” righted previous wrongs, and the latest looks to do the same.
In tandem with the 40th anniversary of the AF1, the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 “Puerto Rico” is the perfect pair for boricuas and AF1 aficionados. The pair is built with white leather with a perforated finish as navy, light blue, and red details are found throughout. A domino and PR lace dubrae, special insoles, and PR-dedicated right heel tab complete the colorway. The Swooshes and heel tab are executed with a suede finish.
A release date for the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Puerto Rico” has not been announced. However, we expect the pair to release on SNKRS and select retailers in June. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
