Nike and Bode Rec. Introduce New Colorways of the Astrograbber

In a campaign starring Ja’Marr Chase- Nike and Bode introduced the latest chapter in their partnership.

Last Spring, Bode and Nike released their first collaboration. It was a celebration of Nike’s sportswear history, and the heritage it has left in American fashion. The capsule was extensive, featuring running tops, running shorts, coaches jackets, track pants, and, of course, the reintroduction of the Astrograbber.

Originally debuting in 1974 on the heels of Nike’s famed Waffle Trainer, the Astrograbber was designed to improve grip and traction on astroturf- which was quickly replacing on the field grass in the 1970s. For their collaborative efforts in 2024 and 2025 -Nike and Bode  have reintroduced the shoe that quickly gained the attention of the sneaker and fashion world.

“The new Astrograbber colorways are timeless and easy to wear, giving the next generation new ways to add a throwback, vintage style to their look. Nike and Bode Rec. hit all the right notes with their first collection last year, and these colorways take their partnership to another level,” explained Ja’Marr Chase, who debuted the collaboration on the runway.

“Bode Rec. is a line devoted to the history and evolution of athletic apparel,”  says Emily Adams Bode Aujla, Bode founder and designer. “A lot of my inspiration for the restyled Astrograbber and new campaign is drawn from the anecdotal stories I learned when I visited Nike World Headquarters of Nike employee No. 1 Jeff Johnson and of Bill Bowerman, who created Nike’s famous waffle sole using his wife’s waffle iron, reminding of the handcrafted elements of early Nike footwear.”

The black colorway is the spiritual successor to the light cream colorway that released last year. It features woven textile design  and is the perfect complement to any sport-style look. Meanwhile, the green pair, inspired from a pair of Bowerman’s homemade, hand-dyed waffle joggers, features a leather upper.

The Nike x Bode Rex. Astrograbbers return with two new colorways on March 14 via bode.com, Bode retail locations in Los Angeles and New York City, and a new Bode boutique in Paris. The black colorway will be available on SNKRS and at select Nike and Bode Rec. retail partners March 21.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
