The latest chapter in the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle collection is here.

Since 2004, Nike and the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, have changed lives with over 100 OHSU patients bringing their creativity and stories to life. Through the partnership’s existence over the last 18 years, the Doernbecher Freestyle initiative has raised more than $30 million for the children’s hospital.

The latest is another chapter in the Nike x Doernbecher history books as the 2022 Doernbecher Freestyle collection has been officially unveiled. Take a detailed look at each sneaker below, and learn more about the creative OHSU patients behind each pair.

Stay tuned to SoleSavy for more industry news.

Zoe Taaffe — Nike Dunk Low

Zoe Taaffe took on the Nike Dunk Low for the Freestyle. Built with an Oregon Ducks theme, the white, green, yellow, and black low top is accented with a zebra print near the collar and toe box. The pair features interchangeable velcro Swooshes and a glow-in-the-dark outsole.

Michael Wilson — Air Jordan 5 Low

Michael Wilson continued the tradition of taking on an Air Jordan. Utilizing the Air Jordan 5 Low as his canvas, Wilson added a multicolor finish with suede and leather across the shoe.

Eyeballs and Swooshes appear under the translucent cage on the panels. A clear outsole and embossed details on the toe box, heel counter, and heel complete the colorway.

Not to mention, a macaroni dubrae makes an appearance.

Cidni O’Brien — Nike Air Force 1 Low

For the Air Force 1’s 40th anniversary, Cidni took on the iconic low-top. Applying a red, black, blue, and baby blue combination, the AF1 “Doernbecher” captures the silhouette’s essence — especially with its translucent outsole with a graphic under.

Sam David Phelps — Nike LeBron 19

Sam David Phelps tapped his super powers when taking on the LeBron 19. Crowned with a black, red, and gold combo, the LeBron 19 “Doernbecher” brings together Phelps’ speed & sports chair.

Maylee Phelps — NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 4 Rafa

Maylee Phelps brings together her love for wheelchair tennis with the help of the NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 4. The colorful & iridescent performance tennis shoe is eye-catching with its gradient finish across the Swoosh and other details.

Catalina Vazquez — Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski

A cult classic. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski has been a staple in the game through collabs and general releases, even within the Doernbecher collections.

Catalina adds her flair to the low-top with a blue & white look. Additionally, the pair includes a multicolor butterfly and a DNA print all over the shoe’s heel and outsole.

Ayman Wamala —Nike Blazer Mid

Ayman Wamala cooked up a hit with his Blazer Mid. With a black and purple look, the Blazer builds on Wamala’s super powers with the tongue detail. But that’s not all.

An iridescent Swoosh, translucent-esque red and white outsole, and a glow-in-the-dark finish brings it all together.

The 2022 Doernbecher Freestyle collection will be available soon; stay tuned for official release information.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
