Kevin Durant unveiled his 16th signature shoe, the Nike KD 16, earlier this year during the 2022-23 NBA Playoffs, and in a matter of weeks, we’ll have our first chance to lace up a pair. The KD 16 will be introduced in the “NY vs. NY” colorway, highlighting the high school street basketball tournament sponsored by Nike.
Over recent years, Nike has solidified the KD line as one of the best basketball performers on the market, and we look for the KD 16 to build off its predecessor. The “NY vs. NY” KD 16 is smooth and elegant, reminding you of red wine with its velvety red design complemented by gold accents. The outer portion of the outsole and shoelaces come in a creamy off-white color, and you’ll get to your spots on the court like clockwork thanks to the new watch-movement-like traction pattern. In addition to the traction setup, Nike updates the TPU caging system and provides Zoom Air cushioning to soften any impact.

In years past, Nike has used the KD 13, Kyrie Low 3, Air Force 1 Low, Air Max 270 Edge, and Dunk Low to celebrate the New York tournament.
If you’re interested in picking up the KD 16 “NY vs. NY,” the release date is August 12th, and retail remains $150 (the same as the KD 15).
