With the reinvigoration of the Nike Kobe line, thanks to Nike’s renewed partnership with Kobe Bryant’s estate Mamba fans have been waiting patiently for the return of the line.
After the Mambacita drop earlier this year, it has been rumored that the Kobe line will be seeing renewed life thanks to the Protro series which enhances the comfort level with added cushioning and updated materials made for today’s hoops. It has been rumored that the Nike Kobe 6 “Prelude” will be getting the Protro makeover later this year.
Dropped in 2014 as a part of the 8 sneaker “Prelude” collection, the Kobe 6 “Prelude” paid homage to his 2011 NBA All-Star MVP as well as the City of Angeles itself with colorful fish and shark graphics throughout. The sneaker features a snakeskin style upper as a nod to Kobe’s “Black Mamba” moniker and a translucent outsole paired with a Zoom Air midsole to complete the look. The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Prelude” is rumored to release later this year via Nike and select retailers. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
