Vanessa Bryant has announced that the Kobe Bryant line with Nike is coming back.
After the Kobe 4, Kobe 5, and Kobe 6 Protro series, Kobe Bryant’s estate, and Nike were not able to find a middle ground. The announcement of the parties going their separate ways raised questions about what the Nike Kobe line would become or if the Kobe estate would make its own sneakers.
The speculation, however, is over.
In an Instagram caption, Vanessa Bryant announced that the Swoosh will honor and celebrate the lives and legacies of Kobe and Gigi Bryant.
“With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike product for years to come and with Nike donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna’s shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation (M&MSF). I am also grateful that Nike and I will work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come.”
The partnership is coming back with the release of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” colorway, with all proceeds from the shoe benefitting the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
A release date for the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” has not been announced. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
